Delicious, extra-large wholemeal spiral noodles with a fine nutty spelt taste, particularly stable when cooked. The best Demeter spelt is used for the wholemeal spelt spirals. In our own mill, the grain is ground in several stages to produce a wholesome flour that still contains all the valuable components of the grain. The wholemeal flour is then processed by hand into spiral noodles that are particularly stable when cooked. Thanks to the spelt, this pasta tastes delicately nutty and is suitable for enjoying with various sauces or gravies as well as for preparing salads, casseroles and all other pasta dishes. Thanks to their twisted, non-slip surface, the pasta absorbs sauces particularly well and ensures a really delicious taste experience. Their attractive, extra-large shape also makes them look good. The pasta packaging is made from 100% renewable wood. They can be completely collected in waste paper and are 100% recyclable. Through a long-term partnership with the Bergwaldprojekt e.V., Spielberger Mühle finances the planting of trees and the maintenance and preservation of the existing forest every year. The latter enables the forest to rejuvenate itself naturally - i.e. new trees grow and the forest thrives. This closes the paper cycle by offsetting paper consumption for packaging and giving something back to nature.spelt tastes delicately nutty. With the beginning of the organic movement, spelt was rediscovered as an unadulterated original grain. Until the Middle Ages, it was considered the most important bread grain. It was only with the intensification of agriculture and the increased use of artificial fertilizers that the grain fell into oblivion. There was a very simple reason for this: unlike wheat, spelt hardly reacts to the application of nitrogen fertilizer with an increase in yield. In organic farming, however, the positive properties of the grain are appreciated. In addition to its fine nutty taste and better digestibility, spelt is characterized by the fact that it also grows well in areas with higher rainfall and at higher altitudes.
Basic recipe: Cook the spelt spirals in plenty of boiling salted water for 5-7 minutes so that the pasta is al dente. Spelt spirals are suitable for all pasta dishes. Thanks to their twisted shape and non-slip surface, they absorb sauces particularly well and are delicious with a wide variety of sauces and gravies, as well as in pasta salads and casseroles. Thanks to their handcrafted production, they are particularly stable when cooked and do not stick together.
