The porcini mushroom - also known as the spruce porcini mushroom, king bolete or noble mushroom - is a highly sought-after and popular edible mushroom and is called the -king of mushrooms- for good reason. It has a very special mushroom aroma, a slightly nutty taste and a pleasantly firm flesh. Porcini mushrooms contain B vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, folic acid), niacin, vitamin C and the valuable minerals potassium, phosphorus, zinc, iron and calcium. Porcini mushrooms are mycorrhizal fungi and cannot be cultivated and the availability of fresh porcini mushrooms varies greatly. Dried porcini mushrooms are a real alternative. Porcini mushrooms retain their unique aroma and bright color even after drying. The mushrooms from Pilze Wohlrab are collected by experienced mushroom pickers in strictly controlled forests. The mushrooms are cut into slices and gently air-dried. After drying, the mushrooms are sorted again by hand to ensure the best possible quality. The porcini mushrooms from Pilze Wohlrab are organically produced and certified organic and bear the organic seal (organic inspection body: DE-ÖKO-006).
