The original recipe for Beutelsbacher Children s Juice was developed in collaboration with the humanities-oriented Working Group for Nutrition Research in Bad Vilbel. In doing so, we paid special attention to incorporating as wide a variety of fruit forms as possible from carrots grown from open-pollinated seeds in the ground, to small blueberries and strawberries, to rosehip bushes and grapevines, all the way to the towering apple and pear trees. A key consideration in selecting the fruits was to use local varieties with different harvest times and ripening periods in order to reflect the full duration of the fruiting season in our latitudes within the children s juice in the spirit of holistic development.
