ÖMA Feta PDO Tharros, Bio - SB
Our ÖMA Feta PDO Tharros is a genuine Greek specialty with authentic origin and taste. It is made from organic sheep's milk with a small proportion of organic goat's milk in the traditional way and is matured in brine for at least 8 weeks. This gives it its tangy freshness and the typical sheep's milk aroma, characterized by a fine hint of goat's milk. Thanks to a special production process, the use of special ripening cultures and the ripening process, ÖMA Feta PDO Tharros is naturally lactose-free. It bears the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) seal. The milk must come from the region and the cheese must be produced and matured there. The Greek word 'Feta' means 'slices' and ÖMA Feta PDO Tharros is also available on the self-service shelf as a 150g slice. A practical block of approx. 900g is available for the service counter. ÖMA Tharros is suitable for hot and cold cheese dishes. It is a delicious accompaniment to pasta with dried tomatoes and fresh sage, and ÖMA Feta PDO Tharros is also produced with sustainability in mind. 100% Greek milk - this protects the environment and supports Greek agriculture. A large proportion of the energy required in the cheese dairy's production process is generated in-house and is to be covered entirely by the photovoltaic system in future.
Our ÖMA Feta PDO Tharros can be used in many different ways in the kitchen - and in a lactose-free way. It is traditionally used in quiches, in salads or as a filling for pastries and baked goods. But it can also be used wonderfully for gratinating. Its fine sheep's and goat's milk flavor rounds off many dishes perfectly. You can find recipes for using feta at www.oema.de.
