ÖMA Burrata, Bio - SB

Like mozzarella, burrata belongs to the group of filata cheeses, the so-called scalded and kneaded cheeses. During production, the filata cheese is molded into the typical pouch shape. This casing is filled with cream and cheese dough pulled into strands and closed again. The cream filling gives burrata its creamy consistency, which is where its name comes from: the Italian burrata means 'buttered'. ÖMA Burrata has a smooth, pure white surface, the taste of the pasta filata cheese is mild, buttery-creamy and slightly sour and fresh. Burrata originates from the Apulia region in south-eastern Italy. In order to preserve the fresh cream during transportation from remote farms, it was packed in mozzarella bags.
Burrata is extremely versatile and can be used wherever mozzarella is indispensable. However, it makes a particularly fine addition to an antipasti starter platter or on a fresh salad with baby leaf and tomato. The creamy ball is also ideal for gratinating or simply to soak up the pasta filata cream filling with a piece of bread.
