After harvesting, the inedible husks are carefully removed from Spielberger Mühle's hulled oats. This leaves the whole grain intact, making it ideal for a wide range of uses. Processing is particularly gentle in order to preserve the natural properties of the grain as much as possible, and the oats impress with their pleasantly mild taste and versatility in the kitchen. They can be easily processed into fresh oat flakes in your own flake mill. Hulled oats are also a popular choice when cooked as a filling side dish or as an ingredient for roasts, casseroles and cereal dishes. Cooking or soaking makes the grain soft and pleasant to the bite without losing its typical flavor. As a grain with a long tradition, oats have been an integral part of the diet for centuries - especially in combination with fresh preparation, they develop their full flavor.
Basic recipe: Soak hulled oats overnight and cook in fresh water for around 30-40 minutes until soft.hulled oats are ideal for flaking for fresh muesli, for cooking as a cereal side dish or as an ingredient for patties, casseroles and soups. They can also be used as a base for cereal salads or for grinding and baking.
