The buckwheat flakes are produced with the utmost care in the Spielberg flake mill. There, the whole grain is steamed and then rolled into a beautiful flake. Buckwheat - the pseudo-cereal with special properties Although the name -buckwheat- contains wheat, it is by no means a real cereal. In reality, buckwheat belongs to the pseudo-cereal family and plays a particularly important role in gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan diets.buckwheat's triangular seeds are surrounded by a hard husk, which is inedible and must be removed. Only specialized hulling mills can do this efficiently without damaging the valuable mineral-rich seed coat. However, many of the tender grains are broken during hulling and are processed into high-quality buckwheat flour.
The buckwheat flakes can be enjoyed without cooking or soaking. Simply mix with yogurt, milk, plant-based alternatives or juice and enjoy warm or cold. Refine as desired with fresh fruit, dried fruit, nut butter, jam, honey or spices, for example. In addition to the classic use as a muesli ingredient, flakes also taste good in baked goods such as cookies, muesli bars or bread, in desserts and also in savory dishes such as soups and roasts.
