The rice flakes are produced with the utmost care in the Spielberg flake mill. There, the whole grain is steamed and then rolled into a nice flake. This preserves all the ingredients of the whole grain. Rice is one of the most important cereals in the world, as it is the main source of nutrition for more than half of the world's population. Rice is grown in over 100 countries, including at altitudes of up to 3000 meters. Around 90% of global rice cultivation is concentrated in Asia, particularly in countries such as China, India and Indonesia, and it is estimated that there are more than 100,000 rice varieties worldwide. These are primarily categorized according to grain length: round, medium or long. Each variety also differs in taste, texture and possible uses in the kitchen.
The rice flakes can be enjoyed without cooking or soaking. Simply mix with yogurt, milk, plant-based alternatives or juice and enjoy warm or cold. Refine as desired with fresh fruit, dried fruit, nut butter, jam, honey or spices, for example. In addition to the classic use as a muesli ingredient, flakes also taste great in baked goods such as cookies, muesli bars or bread, as well as in savory dishes such as soups and roasts.
