The rye flakes are produced with the utmost care in the Spielberg flake mill. There, the whole grain is steamed and then rolled into a beautiful flake. This preserves all the ingredients of the whole grain. With large flakes, one grain makes one flake. Rye flakes have a strong, hearty taste. Rye is particularly resistant to cold weather and can thrive in cooler climates where other cereals struggle. This makes it an important crop in northern regions. In these areas, rye has traditionally been grown as the main cereal, as it grows well in soils with fewer nutrients and can withstand colder temperatures, showing how versatile and robust rye is as a crop - perfect for sustainable farming in less ideal growing regions!
The rice flakes can be enjoyed without cooking or soaking. Simply mix with yogurt, milk, plant-based alternatives or juice and enjoy warm or cold. Refine as desired with fresh fruit, dried fruit, nut butter, jam, honey or spices, for example. In addition to the classic use as a muesli ingredient, flakes also taste great in baked goods such as cookies, muesli bars or bread, as well as in savory dishes such as soups and roasts.
