Gabel-Spaghetti, Hartweizen, demeter
For our fork spaghetti, we use the best Demeter durum wheat from a Demeter farm in Italy, with which Spielberger Mühle has been working for over 20 years. The warm climate in Italy is a prerequisite for the healthy growth of this type of grain. Durum wheat is a special type of wheat with a very hard grain, which is traditionally used for pasta. The semolina is sieved off when the durum wheat grain is ground. The semolina is then processed into pasta in the traditional way, so that it tastes like homemade pasta. Our forked spaghetti is particularly small, short pasta. This makes them perfect for pasta salads or casseroles. But they also taste great with a wide variety of sauces. The packaging of our pasta is based 100% on the renewable raw material wood from European forests. Combined with water-based printing inks, our packaging is completely free of mineral oil. They can be completely collected in waste paper and are 100% recyclable. We close the paper cycle by offsetting the paper consumption for our packaging and giving something back to nature. Through a long-term partnership with Bergwaldprojekt e.V., we finance the planting of trees in our local forests and the maintenance and preservation of the existing forest every year in line with the paper requirements for our packaging. The latter enables the forest to rejuvenate naturally - i.e. new trees grow and the forest thrives.
Basic recipe: Cook fork spaghetti in plenty of boiling salted water for 6-8 minutes so that the pasta is al dente. This small pasta is ideal for pasta salads or pasta bakes; recipe for pasta and rocket salad: 500 g forked spaghetti, 200 g rocket, 1 bunch spring onions,100 g sun-dried tomatoes or 250 g cherry tomatoes, 50 g sunflower seeds, 50 g pumpkin seeds, 50 g sesame seeds, 50 ml olive oil, 50 ml balsamic vinegar, fresh herbs, sugar, salt and pepper to taste; Preparation: cook the pasta for 6-8 minutes until al dente. Drain the pasta, rinse with cold water and leave to cool. Wash and dry the rocket and chop into small pieces. Drain and chop the tomatoes. Wash the spring onions and cut into fine strips. Briefly toast the sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds without oil and leave to cool. Mix all the ingredients well. Prepare a dressing from the balsamic vinegar, a little sugar, salt, pepper and olive oil. Pour the dressing over the salad just before serving, otherwise the rocket will collapse.
