Virgin sesame oil - rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. Cold-pressed organic oil ideal for macrobiotic cuisine. "Open up sesame!" - In the fairy tale "Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves", the sesame fruit is a symbol of wealth. When the fruit capsule opens, it actually reveals a real treasure: the sesame seeds. To allow them to fully ripen, the farmers in Uganda cut the plants by hand and stand them upright for a few days. Only when all the capsules have opened are the sesame seeds shaken out over a cloth. For our BIO PLANÈTE sesame oil, we press these pure, untreated seeds on site a short time later. Sesame oil contains vitamin E and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Replacing saturated fatty acids with polyunsaturated fatty acids in the diet helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. A varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important.

Our cold-pressed sesame oil has a nutty, very mild flavor. It conjures up an Asian flair in your dishes. Heat sesame oil gently and only add it to vegetables, fish, rice and noodles just before serving.
