FINigrana® Shea Butter is extracted by hand from the fruit kernels of the African shea tree. The producer groups receive a fair price for their products and are also guaranteed annual purchase quantities, which promote the preservation of the village communities. shea nuts are dried after harvesting, peeled, heated and pounded with mortars. the resulting mass is diluted with water and beaten for approx. 1 hour until the shea butter is skimmed off and bottled for further use. the shea butter sales ensure the Burkinabe people a solid, continuous basic supply of food, medicines and it also enables them to pay the school fees for their children.
