Camembert la Perelle

Camembert is one of the most famous cheeses in the world. This delicacy comes from the Pays d'Auge, a region in Normandy that stretches across the départements of Calvados and Orne and a small part of the Eure. The landscape has gone down in French cheese history with the towns of Camembert, Livarot and Pont-l-Évêque. Camembert La Pérelle is produced in the Fromagerie Graindorge. The farmer, cheesemaker and later affineur Eugène Graindorge founded the cheese dairy in 1910, when cheeses were made on farms and sold to affineurs. He settled in Livarot, bought cheeses and refined them on his farm in La Perelle. Two Graindorge sons from the next generation continue to run the company successfully. Since 2016, Graindorge has been managed by Bruno Lefevre, who himself comes from a family of cheesemakers. He is very attached to his land and wants to continue passing on more than a century of know-how.
