OSTMOST - NATURAL PROTECTION IN BOTTLESWe produce juices, spritzers and ciders in certified organic quality and completely avoid additives of any kind. We only use old cider apple varieties from local orchards as the basis for all our drinks. Drinking OSTMOST means saving orchards: To date, around 80% of the orchards in eastern Germany have been cut down for eco-certified mono-plantations, among other things. In contrast to conventional monocultures, orchard meadows are a true paradise of biodiversity and variety, as they are home to up to 5,000 animal and plant species. The maintenance and harvesting of these orchards is particularly costly and therefore often no longer economically viable for farmers. That is why we pay the initiatives and fruit growers a fair price, often more than double what is usual on the market. In this way, we enable a fair and regional value chain for the preservation of orchards and thus biodiversity in Germany. We haven't really worked with cherries yet, so it was high time we turned our attention to this great fruit. Similar to apples, cherries contain polyphenols and anthocyanins, both of which protect health.
