The small farms guarantee ideal growing conditions for the organic rearing of the prawns and the banks are overgrown with plants and provide a natural habitat for many animal species. Mangrove forests are important breeding grounds for fish and crustaceans and are among the most productive ecosystems on earth. With this sustainable farming method, nature is not actively protected. Only sustainable, certified organic feed is used to feed the shrimp; and low stocking densities prevent the occurrence of diseases, so that antibiotics do not have to be used. Environmental standards and social criteria are essential aspects for successful certification according to Naturland guidelines. followfood shrimp farmers ensure ideal growing conditions for the organic shrimp and fair working conditions are guaranteed.
