For the ecologically minded household, there is now a paper alternative that replaces many kitchen foils and silicone-coated baking paper. The paper is naturally greaseproof, heat-resistant up to 220°C, food-safe, odorless, tasteless and compostable within 12-14 days. Food packaged with 1 for 4 paper practically never becomes moldy, as the paper is open-pored and therefore breathable.
Tip: Food and leftovers stay fresh and appetizing for longer if the storage containers are covered with damp 1 for 4 paper. And this is how it's done. Tear off the desired length of paper, hold it under the tap, wet it thoroughly, squeeze the water out again, carefully unfold it and stretch it over the bowl or the rim of the pot while still damp. The paper clings to the edge of the dishes and protects the contents from drying out.
