What is jackfruit? At up to 40 kilograms, jackfruit is the largest tree fruit in the world, but its potential is not being exploited. To date, up to 70% of jackfruit in Sri Lanka has been wasted, as the fruit has been little traded. The trees can grow as large as oak trees and bear over a ton of jackfruit. Our jackfruit trees are grown in mixed cultures with mango trees or pineapple plants, for example. We only use the crunchy young jackfruit for Jacky F. organic jackfruit. This distinction is important because only the young fruits are suitable for savory dishes. The ripe, sweet fruits are more suitable for desserts. And what do I do with jackfruit? Jacky F. - That's fruit flesh! Because the consistency is reminiscent of juicy chicken meat. Whether meatballs, pulled jackfruit or Asian curry, jackfruit is versatile. There is also a recipe booklet on every tin. Our jackfruit is characterized by a high bite resistance, which is very important when the products are used as burgers or goulash. In contrast to many other meat alternatives, Jacky F. organic jackfruit is soy and gluten-free, minimally processed and cooked completely naturally using only sea salt and lime juice.
