Tigernuts are naturally gluten-free. To ensure that the gluten content of gluten-free tigernut flakes is guaranteed to be below 20 ppm (20 mg/kg) gluten, they are kept carefully separate from all products containing gluten and analyzed several times. To this end, the mill ensures strictly separate product flows and separate production lines. Only when the last analysis confirms that the products are gluten-free do they leave the factory. Glassine paper is used for an ecological and safe packaging solution for the gluten-free products. This is very dense and has a grease barrier. Complete inner bags made of this paper are used for the bags for gluten-free products. It offers sufficient protection against subsequent contamination. Because it is made of 100% paper, it can be easily disposed of with waste paper. gluten-free tigernut flakes are produced with the greatest care in the Spielberg flake mill. There, the whole nodule is rolled into a beautiful flake. This preserves all the valuable ingredients of the tigernut. Tiger nuts are also known as tigernuts or chufa. They are the relatively hard root nodules of a sweet grass plant that is native to Africa, especially the Sahel regions. Tiger nuts have an aromatic, nutty taste.
The gluten-free tigernut flakes can be eaten without cooking or soaking. Mix the muesli with yogurt, milk, plant-based alternatives or juice and enjoy warm or cold. Refine with fresh fruit, dried fruit, nut butter, jam, honey or spices as desired. Tigernut flakes can also be used as an ingredient in smoothies and fruit salads or as a nut substitute in baking.
