The spelt from Spielberger Mühle is carefully cleaned after harvesting and processed in gentle steps. Spelt is one of the traditional ancient grains and was already valued as an important bread grain in the Middle Ages. The grain has a fine, nutty aroma and can be used in a variety of ways in the kitchen. The whole grain can be freshly ground, crushed or flaked - for breads, pastries, muesli or porridge. Spelt is also suitable for salads, casseroles or as a filling side dish when cooked, and its ease of processing makes it particularly popular with people who like to work with wholesome ingredients and value traditional flavors. The combination of its strong character and mild flavor makes it a versatile grain in wholesome cuisine - for bulk consumers.
Basic recipe: Soak spelt overnight, then cook in fresh water for approx. 30-40 minutes over a low heat.spelt is suitable freshly ground for baking bread, rolls or cakes, flaked for muesli or cooked as a side dish, for salads, patties or casseroles.
