The versatile chanterelle - also known as the chanterelle or chanterelle mushroom - has been one of the most popular edible mushrooms for centuries. Due to its aromatic, spicy flavor, it goes perfectly with game dishes as well as numerous side dishes, sauces and soups. Chanterelles are rich in vitamins and minerals. Particularly noteworthy is the high content of essential iron (57.6 mg/100 g dry mushroom mass) and magnesium (135 mg/100 g dry mushroom mass). Although the yellow-orange colored chanterelle is widespread in Europe, it has become increasingly rare in recent decades and is therefore already classified as endangered in some countries.
