The organic orange blossom hydrolate is distilled from the freshly picked blossoms of the bitter orange tree. In natural cosmetics, it is used as a cleansing and nourishing toner for all skin types, especially dry and mature skin, but impure skin also benefits from its valuable ingredients. Like almost all citrus species, the bitter orange originates from China, but has been cultivated for centuries in the countries bordering the Mediterranean, where it is traditionally used for medicinal purposes. Orange blossom, also known as neroli, is valued in traditional Chinese medicine as well as in Mediterranean medicine for the treatment of sleep disorders (children and adults), headaches, nervousness and also for digestive disorders such as stomach cramps. Discorides (1555) described orange blossom water as a tonic for the heart and stomach, useful for treating fainting spells after childbirth - and it is still very popular with midwives and young mothers today. Apart from medicine, neroli has always been used as a wonderfully sweet, intensely floral perfume for scenting people, clothes and houses. APPLICATION: Spray onto cleansed skin as a toner and gently pat in. For hot flushes, tension or as a refresher when traveling, spray onto the décolleté, neck and temples as required. Tip: Orange blossom water in the form of ice cubes is wonderfully refreshing for the face and décolleté in summer.
