Erdmandeln gemahlen, geröstet
Tigernuts, also known as chufa or tiger nuts, owe their name to their fine, nutty taste, which is reminiscent of almonds or hazelnuts. However, it is not a nut, as tigernuts are the acorn-sized, high-fiber and tasty root tubers of a cyper grass. The gentle roasting process gives the tigernut flour a delicately aromatic roasted flavor and it can be used in a variety of ways.
in porridge & muesli, for desserts, bars, shakes or smoothies and for baking - tiger nut flour can be used in a variety of ways. It is also ideal as part of an alkaline diet. When baking, 100% of nuts and up to 25% of cereal flours can be replaced by tigernut flour. Due to the subtly sweet taste of tigernuts, the sugar in the recipe can be reduced or omitted completely. The flour is also ideal for preparing delicious horchata (tigernut milk, a Spanish soft drink). If the flour is used raw, e.g. in shakes, milk, etc., please store the drink in the fridge for swelling and storage.
