Kaffa wild coffee from Original Food is a Naturland Fairtrade and organic certified coffee from wild harvesting. It comes from the Ethiopian region of the same name, the original home of all coffee. Here in south-western Ethiopia, Coffea Arabica still ripens wild in the rainforest today, as it has done for tens of thousands of years. By collecting the wild beans and trading directly with Original Food at prices well above the world market level, over 15,000 local families receive a regular income. With this sustainable use of the rainforest in designated zones, they have been committed to protecting and preserving it since 2003. Thanks to ideal, natural growing conditions and low harvest yields, the wild Arabica beans have a unique aroma. Like well-tended vines, which produce a different wine depending on the soil and location, the wild varieties from the various forest areas to which they have adapted over thousands of years are all different in character. Some taste fruity, others strong and tart, others light and flowery, and in numerous tastings we determine the perfect roasting depth for each provenance as well as the ideal composition of individual provenances for each roast level (blond roast, medium or espresso). In order to optimally emphasize the unique character of the locations used, the coffee beans are roasted slowly and gently in small batches at approx. 200°C in a drum roaster according to old craft traditions.MEDIUM ROAST, 100 % Arabica, 250g, ground, Naturland Fair and organic certifiedA strong coffee with unusual taste nuances and a full-bodied undertone.
